Job Role Summary:

As a Neilson Mountain Collection Manager, you will ultimately be responsible for the hospitality delivery and performance of the overseas Neilson Mountain Collection properties, and to ensure that both our service and financial objectives are achieved.

You’ll work closely with the Director of Winter and our Neilson Hotel Managers to ensure the consistent delivery of the Neilson hospitality product across all managed units while adhering to all set Blueprint standards.

Key Responsibilities & Tasks:

The key responsibilities and tasks in your role will be to:

  • Develop the consistency of Brand offering across Neilson’s ‘own operated’ Mountain Collection hotels ranging in size from small ten-bed mountain chalets, through to larger 130-bed Hotels
  • Improve our Neilson Mountain Hotel and Chalet Collection hospitality offering, hotel standards, look, feel, with the aim of creating a service and operational delivery model to equal our summer product
  • Work with the HR team to create optimum staffing models, planning induction, briefings, training, and support throughout the season
  • Work with the Development team on the introduction of new units to the programme and liaise with overseas owners
  • Work with Estate Manager to develop property enhancements plans/CapEx budgets
  • Successfully manage and motivate the Hotel and Chalet Management team drawing upon your extensive experience of running hotels
  • Accurately budget costs and revenues associated with the NMC (Neilson Mountain Collection) programme
  • Drive the team to achieve against the agreed budgets and monthly P&L reviews
  • Negotiate all contracts with suppliers for hotel supplies including food, beverage and linen

Technical Skills & Knowledge:


  • MS PowerPoint – Excellent production of complex presentations and reports
  • MS Excel – Excellent production of complex presentations and reports
  • MS Word – Production of concise written reports and business cases


  • Foreign language skill would be beneficial

Experience & Track Record:


  • Previous experience in hotel operational management role within the UK or overseas
  • Experience within the active holiday sector
  • Proven experience of hotel development
  • Proven innovation and development experience
  • Catering or F&B experience


  • Construction or design experience within the hotel sector
  • Understanding of good customer service practice

Qualifications and experience required:


  • GCSE level English and Maths
  • UK or EU driving license


  • Relevant degree graduate
  • Business or management related education and training
